need a 10 day suboxone dosage plan suggestion please

Hi all.  I had sent Fladdict a pm because I wanted to ask her what her 10 day suboxone dosage plan was that she used to detox but I just noticed she might not be online do to a surgery or injections so I will ask some of you and if you do read this Stephanie, get well soon!

Anyhow, I have posted once on here before about tapering and also some sub. questions but found out the sub. doctor here wanted $1,000 so that ended that for me at the time.

My background again...I am on 10 mg lortabs, usually around 8 or 9 per day, slow build up through the years for tolerance.  I have arthritis and degenerative disk disease.  I have taken tabs for about 7 or 8 yrs.  I went the CT route about 6 months ago and at that time it was for lortab, soma, prozac and xanax and it was of course a nightmare.  I had no idea what I was doing or that you shouldn't try to detox off of xanax by yourself.  I had no idea about this forum back then so of course I knew nothing about vitamins, aminos or even immodium for that matter.  It was so awful.

Anyhow, I don't take anything but the lortabs now and occasionally soma and the main reason I started taking tabs again was because I didn't have any energy and I realize now that I should have given it more time.  I will deal with any pain issues with ibuprophen and heat an ice.  Side note...I felt so much better off all that medicine ...even my pain was under control with just OTC stuff...I was really surprised and I will neve take benzo's or antidepressants ever again but that is another story.  I just can't wait to have a clear mind again.

I finally found a suboxone dr. that only charges $300 so I will be going to see him in 2 weeks.  My question is that this dr. seems to be real flexible and I told the receptionist that I absolutely only wanted this medicine for 10-14 days max!  I told her that I just could not bear going CT again so I wanted to use the sub. for a quick detox and that is all.  I feel like I can handle it now that i have educated myself about getting healthy, exercising, taking all the vitamins and then the energy will eventually come.

Can someone recommend a good dosage plan for 10 days so that I can ask the dr. if we can use that?  I kinda wanted to follow FLaddict's plan if anyone knows it.

Sorry to ramble on and thanks in advance for any help.

Hi, thanks for posting.  I went to her profile page, she has over 6000 posts so I will be searching for a while...lol!

I did find a few comments but none yet with her whole plan.  Here are a few I am piecing together from various posts -

All these are FLaddicts posts below -

They usually give you subutex for the induction then switch you to Suboxone depending on the clinic or doctor. I stayed on Subutex for most of the ten days I was on it.

I did one in 10 days, call the docs in your area and see what they offer.  Mine was a great deal as far as price, paid 300 and that included the pills, 50 clonidine, and some lunesta and pherengen for upset stomach ( the Sub made me nauseous after I took it this helped)

I was in the same situation, couldn't take off work, didn't have alot of money, knew people that did well with shorter term use, so I did tons of research and called the doc. He said he didn't have more than 2 patients that took it longer than 2 months, most did the short term and had lots of successes. Good luck to you.

My doctor sent me home with mine as well. The first day he gave me 4 8mg Subutex pills. I went home and took half, waited 2 hours to see how I was feeling and took 2 mg more then another 2mgs 6 hours later. When I went back the next day he was surprised I only needed half of what he thought I would. Worked out great, saved me doc visits. I went back one other time to get 4 more pills.  In 10 days I only needed about 6 pills I think so 17 should be enough for a detox. Best of Luck to you.

Yes the "Sub" Headache is totally normal.. it was awful.. It usually goes away after the body adjust to the med. Mine really was only the first day.  Sub can also make some people more on the "jittery" side or it makes people more tired. That gets better when you start to taper down.  People react differently. I was one of the more jittery ones, felt like I had taken cold medicine with Sudafed in it. That got better when I started to taper down on the third day. By day 5 I was down to 4 mgs and I felt much better. I did have a cloudy head though until I got down to 2mgs on day 7 or so.

I hope this helped some.

Looks like it was a 10 day taper and on subutex mostly?  I just want to make sure I have a "presentation" for my dr. that will be precise and easy to understand because the one I am going to seems to keep all his patients on like a maintenance plan or alot longer than I want but I really have no choice but to go to him since he is the most affordable.

His receptionist was really nice and she said that yes he probably would work with me on a short term taper so thank God he is flexible.

I am glad I have a couple of weeks to figure this out because I am confused big time right now..lol
