need help to make a plan to decrease xanax & get off PLEASE

I got sent to a special school all thru high shool they had me on 30mg adderall 100 mg zoloft every  morning total 4 years huge interaction Now it is like 9 years later & I've started taking meds again adderall in the morning 4 my adhd & xanax 4 my anxiety & agoraphobia the drs started me on xanax like 3 years ago & I was on a low dosage until a few months ago when my drs changed I went from having anxiety free full nights sleep with 1mg of xanex but then the dr upped it to 2mg bars & I don't know if it was tolerance or withdrawl having me feel the 2mg bars wernt as strong as the smaller doses combined together. So I'm currently taking 3mg to take out the anxiety to sleep I keep reading about tapering off but I don't know how to & the horror stories of withdrawl & how dangerous it is has me so scared. So I guess my question is what's the best way to cut down until I can completly stop & if u have any sucsess stories i'd be glad to hear them so I can have some hope to not need meds anymore . The first rule for cutting back is to do it slowly. So if you are taking 3mg (a really big dose, by the way), but back to 2.75. Stay that way for a week. Then go to 2.5 and stay there until you are really comfortable. Stick with that method and you will get off the stuff without suffering withdrawal. It will take a while, but that doesn't matter.
