just curious about painkillers

I'm just wondering...there seems to be alot of people on here that got their opiates from doctors for real reasons. ( I am not one of those people), but is there pain medication out there that doesn't have opiates in them & are not addictive?

I believe that tordol is the only non opiate or opiode derivite pain killer that's prescribed
Doctors will say over&over tramadol is non narcotic not an opiate and not addictive.2out of3r true its not a narcotic but all u have to do is look here and u realize that tramadol is awful, very addictive and has dangerous and horrific to come off of so don't let them tell u any different. There r so many ways to get pain relief with all NATURAL,otc mess, therapy&the torodol I hear really does help.My MIL who takes opiates&my husband who hates opiates both took/that and they say it works great.

Years ago the chiropractor sold me all natural pain killers.  I don't remember the name of them.  That was helpful huh?  Lol

I am a chronic pain suffer and I take torodol only when it's severe, I'm so turned off by pills now and so scared to take anything. But now they have compound creams out that only a select few pharmcys make and it works great for me! It's a compound mix of torodol, Celebrex and other meds that are not opiate based, I rub it on my leg/hip and I do get relief:) now I am still in pain sure but no way do I need opiates to function for me I can't take as prescribed and I'm too scared that I would end up DEAD! So OTC and compound cream (RX) does it for me.

Toradol works well for moderate pain and should be considered an alternative when faced with a temporary situation that could threaten anyone's clean time. I would never expect anyone to be a martyr because I'm not but I always suggest that members seek alternatives before going down a road that could lead to a dead end. There are always alternatives.

I would love for there to be a med like that, too. I do have pain that I deal with on some level every day. There are people out there who can take meds without abusing them and who need them to function. I guess I will always have to suffer to some extent. I just don't trust myself to take them like I should. I feel bad for the people who need them because they still get physically dependent upon them. So, for me, its Excedrine or Tylenol or Ibuprofen, pt, massage therapy, and trigger points, as well as heating pads Biofreeze, and home TENS and traction units. I guess we can only hope for a medical breakthrough!

well way before my hydr addiction, excedrine was my DOC!! I even went through mild W/D from them due to the caffeine in them when i started on hydo.

Nope. Except Advil and tylonol, and those are no fun, but on the upside the dont usually ruin your life either :)
I wish somone would invent something like that though.
Maybe medial weed?
