I am so glad that you are doing well. Congrats on getting off the Opana! You just do what dr says and stay on here for support. We are all here for you anytime you need it. Take care of yourself!
Great!!! You did the right thing by letting your doc in on this! That'll keep you safe, dear. We all just want people safe.....and healthy! That is the goal of getting off drugs after all! Just keep doing what you're doing. It will be uncomfortable, but you can handle it. If you can't, call your doc, and ask what to do. They will know and know if you need other meds to help! :)
Proud of you. Just keep it up! And if you have a symptom that's driving you nuts, ask us. We usually have something we did to help it along the way!!!
so glad to hear this. so glad you got your doc involved. you are doing great,
It is Sunday and I have sucessfully NOT taken a single Opana since Tuesday night! I tried the c/t and it almost killed me. Being 68 and in poor health anyway, I just about lost it after 18 hours! I took the advice of everyone, told my doctor and am now on just the 10 mg oxycodone. Doc wants me on both. So far, with the help of you people and God, I have made it to only 4 & 1/2 oxys per day! Yea and yipee! I still have withdrawals but NOTHING like those 18 hours from hell! I really thought I would lose my mind. My body hurt so bad! I stayed in bed or in front of the computer re-reading help from you people. God bless each of you who take the precious time to help total strangers with words of encouragement and telling what you did to help. So, I am tapering, like every single person suggested.....and me & the doc will be able to see how bad my health is or isn't and it won't be based on how I am doing with drugs. Yes, I still have the symptoms of withdrawal but I say "OK Self, can you take this discomfort for 5 more minutes, yes or no?" And the answer so far, has been a resounding YES! YES! YES! Blessings, Carolyn
You're doing great. Just try to take the docs advice as much as possible to avoid health issues. You've got a lot at stake either way! If you DON'T do what the doc says, you're risking health. If you do, you will be on the drugs a little longer, but it will be a safe detox. I know you're ready to be on with it, but take it slowly, and you'll be done before you know it!
I know how you feel. I think that it is great that you are working so hard to get off all the meds and re assess your true pain. I know for me the pain meds were giving me additional pain as crazy as that sounds. Just know that you are doing great! I am so proud of you! Try to keep your head up and know I am here if you need to talk.

Today is day 2 1/2 without opana. My hips and legs hurt and I feel "scattered." The arthritis is most assuredly making a huge comeback as my fingers are barely typing and my wrists hurt. The doctor wanted me back on a lower dose of Opana with 4 oxycodone a day. I can't bring myself to take another opana after the hell I have gone thru NOT to take any. So, I am going on only 6 oxy a day (10 mg each). My biggest problem now is that the oxy's will run out in about a week because he only wrote the script for 4 a day because he wants me on the opana as well. I really looked at it and I have been on that crap for 7 years, and the oxy for 10! I tried to tell the doc that I just HAD to stop the Opana and that I thought it had turned on me and was causing me pain instead of helping. Truth is, I have no idea what it was doing, I just want off this merrygoround of drugs. It is no way to live! How in the world do I know how much better or worse I am after ten years because the drugs have masked everything. I don't want to live looking at a clock. I want to LIVE!
You can do this. Just wanted to lend my support. I tapered from methadone. I kept hearing slow and steady wins the race. They were right. I hardly had any wds. Praying for u!!! U can do this!!!!
That is great! Just be honest for the doc appt. He won't stop you from all of it if he's a good doc. He will help you to detox or taper. Tell him that you're tired of tapering and hurtin the whole time, and ask for some meds to aid the process, so you can do CT, and get it over with!!
I am glad that you are feeling a little better and that you are seeking advice from your dr. I'm so sorry that your situation is so hard right now. I have a lot of experience with controlling/abusive spouses. My ex husband was an addict and a mean one at that. I could tell you some stories you wouldn't believe! This site is great for support. If you ever need to talk you can send me a message. I keep crazy hours most days because my boyfriend is a truck driver and we are on the road. Just stay strong and try to keep your head up.

OK, it is Friday morning and I am much better. From 5 pm yesterday to right now (8:30 am) I took a total of 3 ten mg oxy and no opana. I am sweating and a little shaky but nothing I can't handle. I am on my way to doctor. I am scared to death that he will take it all away and I will die. But I'm going to tell him anyway. Guys, while I was in the deepest misdt of the withdrawals and in horrible pain, my husband picked that particular time to "talk " to me about us. Then he proceeded to drink and trashed my kitchen. He is notorious for breaking things when he is drunk. God knows I am in this horrible predictament and see no way out, so He must give me the strength to be here. I have no car and all of the meetings around here are not within walking distance, so I am alone. I have only lived here less than 2 months, so I barely know the neighbors or people in my church. That is why I cling to every post you guys send. Thank you. Blessings, Carolyn
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I'm going to try to sleep now.
You're not a failure. That's not what it's about. You do have to be so careful what you do and how you go about it, so you don't get sick! I'm worried about your health! If it keeps going on with the heart and the confusion then you need to get medical treatment. The jerking might be better after a hot bath or shower. If it's not, take the other med.....one of them, in an attempt to taper and get some of it into your system. Just take it slowly! There's not a finish line that someone is gonna get to ahead of you here. As long as you make it there, you'll be fine. Just be slow and meticulous. That's the best way to go when you may be risking your health!
I am still jerking and twitching and in all over pain...might be the arthritis, I have no way of knowing. So, I took a 10 mg oxy when I got your first post about no ct and just took another one which is only 3 hours. I'm thinking to try to get oxycodone only and try to stay off the opana. thank you for helping me. I feel like such a failure.
Hot baths stay in as long as you can.
Restless leg is the worst! It WILL PASS!!! Be strong and think of if you wait a little longer it will be over and you won't beer have to deal with this again!!
Easier said then done I know.. I'm here if you need to talk!!
Ok, here's the deal. You NEED to be careful here. The jerking is normal, but being confused and all that is dangerous. You need to do this right! You've just GOT to be careful. Why can't you taper properly? Did you just give up, because you were miserable? The heart thing is probably pretty normal too, but this is why we only tell extremely healthy people to go CT. It can be dangerous in some cases if you have underlying health conditions.
Taking just the oxycodone will probably help, but the other one is completely different medicine. Can't you talk to your doc about it?
I'm very worried for you!
OK, I just took one oxycodone. Thank you for talking to me. I feel like my body is coming apart. What if I just take oxycodone and stop the opana? My body keeps jerking.
Don't do this until you have the proper supplies and support. I also think you should continue to taper...CT is too harsh and may be dangerous for you. It's just too stressful to the body. We told you to go slow...this is something you just can't rush so be patient and continue your taper. You'll feel better.
