Hi gunn,
We must see the humor in life. Most people are trying to lose weight and you want to gain some! ;-) How many people out there would love to be advised to eat donuts??!
I hope I made you laugh, or at least lol (how many of us really lol when we type that?)
You are really inspiring to a lot of us. I hope you are doing well today.
Hi gunn
Im so amazed at you!! you have kept me going when i wanted to give in. i have used you as my inspiration. cause we were both on hardcore stuff....you h. me oxie that i consider h in a pill. so please next time you look in the mirror...see the winner. the man you are. a free one. a smarter one. a compassionate one. a dragon slayer...a loving husband....a beautiful person. who is no longer bound by the chains of h.
You've beaten so many odds. worked hard as heck ....baby if there were gold metals to give id put one around your neck.
don't worry about the weight. Sara wants to fatten ya up. the weight will come. slowly but surely. we've been sick for awhile. it takes time for our bodies to heal. and the shakes will help. plus they taste good....
Look in the mirror and see accomplishment and commitment. and love.
I can't speak from a personal experience from coming off heroin, but I CAN tell you this much:
You have been successful in turning your life around and completing one of the most difficult journeys one could make in life! My admiration for you is OFF THE CHARTS!!!!
Here's the way I see it--if you can have made it through heroin withdrawal and are now facing a new and clean life ahead, YOU CAN DO ANYTHING!!!
WEIGHT GAIN, I am sure everyone would agree, is a far easier feat to accomplish than heroin withdrawal. (Understatement of the century) In fact--they're not even in the same league! If nothing else, a nutritionist or doctor can help advise you with that.
What is more important is that you look in that mirror and see facing you one of the MOST SUCCESSFUL AND ACCOMPLISHED HUMAN BEINGS ALIVE--one of incredible strength of character, and one who now faces a new life of hope and health! God bless you, Gunn, and be proud of yourself--YOU DESERVE IT!!!!
Hey Gunn I feel your pain bro. I lost 25 lbs since I quit doing heroin. I don't know what it is but I can't gain wait back either. I work out like a machine now tho and ride 10 miles a day out on my bike. I guess it's a combo of that plus my detox totally kicked my ***. I didn't eat solids for 2 weeks and got so dehydrated it was pretty bad when u can't stop vomiting tl even eat a cracker. Heroin is a beast my friend and we both have battled and won. Don't worry about the weight that's the least of our worries I bet id weigh less if i was dead rite? Well that's where id prob be thank god for his forgiveness and a second chance at life. When you look in the mirror u see a new man. U see someone h don't recognize that's all. **** I still look and see my eyes I look like a demon not used to seeing normal size pupils in 8 years! Lol
Hi Great job you are doing awesome! You will get the weight back
donuts donuts donuts
Hey you! It feels great to be free from h doesn't it? I lost a lot of weight in the beginning, it eventually will come back. Your appetite will come back too.
Look at that person in the mirror with dignity, because you deserve it!
Gunn,
Hey you! Don't worry about the weight, it definitely comes back along with your appetite-and then it usually swings in the other direction! Get out and get some exercise and fresh air to stimulate your appetite and fire some feel-good in your brain. Make sure the food you are putting in your body is high in nutritional value-lots of fresh fruits and veggies, lean protein, legumes etc. Eat small amounts at regular intervals. The whey protein is good, but many are sensitive to dairy (as I recently discovered) and so there are other proteins like rice and pea which are easier to digest and actually help cleanse the liver. I'm actually doing a full liver cleanse and feeling great! Let me know if you want more info.
Hey I'm proud of you my friend! Be loving and patient with yourself....This is a journey that requires much strength and patience and both come from self-love.
xo

Thanq guys, u ve been such wonderful friends. I LOVE U ALL.
gunnu
Gunn - it's been so amazing watching your journey, the weight will come back eventually. Remember patience and love yourself. Your body has been through so much. Everything is coming back into place for you bit by bit! Keep it going my friend!
Gunn.... You have come so far man... It's really awesome to read this post and see your mind came around too. Stick with the protein that we talked about and your weight will come back. One battle at a time my friend.
Awesome... Keep it up
Hi gunn,
I agree... that person in the mirror is amazing! I still don't have the appetite I used to. What I try to do is get the most nutritional value out of what I do eat. I also eat small meals throughout the day rather than the traditional three meals. Slowly yet surely it will get better.
I hope you are enjoying that countryside :)
Hugs,
Minn
Hey gunn you should look at yourself in the mirror and really like what you see, you're beating this and that is a great accomplishment,
If you 2 lived closer i would fatten ya both up..I work at a Dairy Queen!!
I am doing pretty good. Had some stress the last couple weeks but am working thru it.
You have so much to be grateful and proud of. You are clean off heroin and that is a huge accomplishment. Try and focus on the good things in your life now. I know the weight thing is always present but you are healthy now. We will fatten you up!!! lol
hey Gunn, you are doing such a great job!!!! Good for you!.....the weight will come back....I feel the same way....like you have to force yourself to eat.....drink your whey protein shakes twice a day, and mix it with whole milk to get more calories......you will be just fine...it just takes a while for our bodies to return to normal........so proud of you.....you have came so far!!!...........Teri :)
hi sara, how ve u been?
it s the weight now taken allover my mind.
It is very common to lose weight gunn. It can take awhile to get your appetite back and when you do usually the weight comes back. The protein shakes should be good for you. Try not to isolate yourself as we have a tendancy to do that in the beginning. Is it the weight that bothers you when you see yourself in the mirror?
