pain killers are a necessary evil/blessing

I have tooth ache like pain in my hips and arms and etc...so, i was prescribed hydrocodone..10/325.  they made me feel so happy and positive that i can see their appeal in the world of street drugs.  the longer you are on them the less euphoria you feel..which is a bummer....but  they really help pain...more than any over counter drug, plus i'm more worried about the amount of tylenol i was shoving down than the 4 hydros a day i take.  yep, i would definitely feel all the woes of withdrawl if i didn't have them anymore.  i have already experienced that when a family friend needed to use our bathroom and snoop in our medicine cabinet and helped herself to a handfull.  i was two weeks short because of her.  plus i've been bad and have taken more than i should have. i felt soooo depressed and unmotivated and in pain until i got my next refill.  i hide them now.  i never want to feel that again, so i will make sure i take them as prescribed so i never run short.  I love my pain pills and i'm not a junkie.  they help my pain like nothing else.  i'm no rookie...i've been on them for years.

why are you taking more than prescribed if you feel your not a junkie...for the pain or the high.....i don t know....maria

Yeah I am really confused it sounds like you are talking about a love affiar .I understand that feeling of course when you start romancing your pills you have a major problem.When you run out of them to early you have a problem.Are you ready for help.

Yeah ,okay,and is there a question or reason behind your post?????? Or do you just feel like sharing today? If thats the case,let me share with you.I was no rookie either,took vikes for years,got up to 4 at a time 5 times a day.The real 'bummer' though isn't when you loose the euphoria,it's when you loose everything else in your life because although you have 'lost the euphoria' a long time ago,you think you can't handle the dope sick everytime you don't have enough.So your whole life revolves around getting more.That takes priority over your kids,your spouse,your home,your job.Your whole entire life revolves around the drug.And the biggest 'bummer' is that they don't even help the pain you started taking them for in the first place,instead they start to turn on you and the pain gets worse.I hate pain pills.I love the clean life I'm living though and I am a junkie,a recovering junkie as a matter of fact.I'll stick with motrin.Thanks for sharing though.

Sorry my friend, sounds like your addicted to me. Nobody here was a rookie. Most of us here have real pain as well. I was on Norco for 5 years for migraines. If your hiding pills and speak of them the way you do.
