can methadone be used to treat amphetamine withdrawal in newborns
the number of addicted newborns has tripled in the past decade. they are scrambling to find the right treatment for them. poor little things
I don't think methadone works for amphetamine withdrawal...
From what I've read, the treatment modality is determined by the severity of the withdrawal. Sometimes it's just observation and supportive care. Honesty with the doctor is imperative.

it IS TREATED IN THE HOSPITAL by doctors at the time of birth. they do not go home on methadone, I believe they stay in the hospital until they are detoxed
i recently seen a article or documentary where babies who are born addicted are treated with methadone. i know we cannot post links here, but google it
