A standard drug panel will not reveal the presence of Suboxone/Bupe. A special test has to be done in order to detect it. If I were you, I'd assume that your Dr. will use this test as he certainly will when you're required to do weekly or monthly tests going forwards if he takes you on. Suboxone is highly variable in terms of tests. Some people may show negative for it sometimes after taking it & some may show positive well over a week after taking their last dose.

I think the best thing you could do, is to tell him the Truth as you're there for a reason! You've got an addiction & you want harm reduction/maintenance right? Or is this for pain management? If it's a pain management place then they'll definitely test for it. Like I said, honesty is the best policy whether for pain, addiction or both. :)

Did u get the sub in ur system on street?  At my sub doctor, he required a urine test when I went in.   I'm not sure, but I think most do.  If your doctor requires urine test, he/she will discover the suboxone.  (I think they have a way to detect subox apart from other opiates).  Are u getting on subox to get off a different med?  Imo, ur best option is to b honest with ur sub doc.   But that would depend on your reasons for going into see him in the first place? To get sub for a sub high?  To get off a different med?

so, at this time your neurologist is prescribing both sub's and 'other' things and you are going to a 'new' doctor for sub's?????

why not just stay with the neurologist??  i don't think any doctor would prescribe sub's with other things.  not positive, but this is the first i have heard of it.

are you sure you don't have an appt for a sub doctor and you have been getting sub's and other things from somewhere else?  now that i have heard about A LOT.  lol

Ah okay...found your question.  If possible please try to stay with one thread....otherwise we might lose track of what has been said and by whom.  Unfortunately you asked the one question I can't help with.  I've never been on Sub.  I do recall hearing though that drug tests are given in clinics where they give you methadone.  I'm not sure if they will do the same with Sub.

Hang on okay...we have quite a few experts on Sub who will try to help you out.  Check back periodically on this thread okay?

Good luck to you :-)
