4 days to c-section.

I am new here but I appreciate reading everyone's stories. Thank you in advance for your support and advice!
I  am scheduled for my c-section on Tuesday and I have been on norco 7.5 the whole pregnancy, prescribed to me. I have mixed reviews from my ob and my gp. One says it's fine because it's such a low dose, 3 a day max and the last week 2 or 1 1/2 a day. The other says its not.  What are the chances the baby won't be affected? And is it too late to just stop, I will be in pain but I don't want my baby to suffer.

Hi! And thank you for your responses. My ob knows but has said it can cause the withdrawals, my other dr said its such a low dose not to worry. My problem is I have tried to talk to the ob many, many times and he has continually blown me off. Like I just don't matter as a patient. If I ask a question, he answers it as he walks out the door. I was asking about the c-section last week and he told me the anesthesiologist would tell me everything I need to know at the hospital. I don't feel too bad today other than my fibro pain, but I took some Tylenol because it isn't unbearable yet. Again, I appreciate your posts and reading everyone's stories. This is a great place!

Hi there--  It's dangerous to stop the pills abruptly at this stage. Your baby will feel the withdrawal along with other unpleasant effects...

Unfortunately, there's just no way to know what kind of shape the baby will be in, ahead of time.  Be sure the medical staff is aware of your use of Norco every day for the entire pregnancy.

Which doctor told you it was safe to take?  If it wasn't your OB, be sure he/she knows about your use and amounts, as well.  Good luck.

Hi and welcome!   All I know is that everything you ingest passes from you to the baby.   If aspirin, or alcohol isn't good, I can't imagine Norco not having some side effects, but as to what those might be, I don't know and don't want to scare you.    As you can see by what you have read here, what it does to us is not good when used long term.   I was prescribed a headache pain med when pregnant with one of my children that had a sedative/barbituate in it.  I wound up fighting a loooong addiction to those in my late 20's to late 30's.   I sometimes wonder if it contributed to my son's bipolar and adhd?    My OB said they were safe to take during pregnancy too??     I think if you just stopped you would have withdrawals that would be very uncomfortable and if you have a c section, they are going to give you more as soon as you start to feel better.    Keep us posted.
