remedies that dr's do not give

I was at on time on methadone 95mg to105mg.  Had been on it for 4years and suddenly went to jail. Anyway a dr. from mexico gave me intavenous shots of b-12, very large amounts and in one day i was eating etc. Why is it that Dr's do not use this method it is drug free?

I did not get sick after that seriously. And never again did i try methadone after that. I had 2 friends die in jail from methadone withdrawls. The goverment knows the long term side effects of methadone. That's why they make u sign this paper that says u can't sue the clinics.

Even though this worked for the poster, I doubt B12 shorts or IV's would help 1 out of 1000 methadone dependent clients. It just doesn't work that easily.

Yeah but four years on Methadone vs one maybe two shots of Vitamin B12? All this stuff I keep hearing is like as if the Pharma companies & Doctors are all working the system to line their pockets while we are kept in the dark.

B-12 shots were staples for years at detox facilities. It's still used a great deal. I think the reason that they're not given more by doctors in general is that they need to be taken every day and the cost may be prohibitive. It's not a magic cure by any means.
