Hi everyone. I have been reading A LOT of posts about suboxone ( which im on ) and all i see is horror stories about it! Its working amazing for me and my dr is really great. He said after a cpl months or a yr we will begin to taper down until im off completely.  But im getting scared about it bc of the posts im reading. Im on day 43 and back to my old self in most ways.and thts what ive been looking for the past 2 yrs. Can someone fill me in about a taper withs suboxone and can it b done to where im not going thru the same thing as i did getting off the heroin. Please help!

Thank u so much! Im feeling more like myself everyday thanks to the subs. I sont want to b on them any longer than a year my dr agrees thts a good timeframe.  As far as after care i go once a montj as one on one and three times a week for 4 hours tht im starting Tuesday which scares me to death!!! I never thought i would b in this position it kills me thinking about it!! For some reason ive been soooo emotional lately and im not sure why? Any insight?

suboxone is a great help to people. don't be scared , just try to get support around your drug seeking behaviors, do your after care program, and don't up your dose. try to wean off them as soon as posssile.they are incredably strong. drs. often times put people on way to high a dose to manage teir cravings, and keep them on it for way to long. just keep the end goal in sight (drug free ) and stick to a good taper scheldule when your ready to come off. everybody here, will cheer you on. I'm just coming off subs myself. and I'm feeling better everyday.
