DON'T taper off a benzo by yourself, it's a very tricky thing to do and your tapering plan is to be supervised by a doctor.
If your actual dr doesn't understand the situation the way you wish, please go see an addiction specialist and explain your situation.
In the meantime, educate yourself, there's a site which is the reference in matter of benzo, here's the link: http://www.benzo.org.uk/
Best of luck to you. sophie.

Hi~  We really can't advise you on a taper plan.  Can you call the doctors and be a bit more insistent?  Also, the pharmamcist may be able to help you with a taper plan.
Good luck!

many thanks for your responses.  well i am tapering off on my the coz the doc conduct not ok.  he took the the ecg prescribed the blood pressure med and just said to stop taking it.  so i have
started taking three fourth  tablet of 1 mg lorazepam 4 days. i done it before only to go back on it or antidepressant.  the prescribing doc is not interested whether i stop or take it.  the other one said the above. so i am confused.  can't find the right dr who shows empathy.  i can't remember when i stopped the last time.  do you think it is ok if i took 3/4the of 1 mg lorazepam for 2 weeks and then cut it 1/2 for another 2 weeks and then
1/4 for another 2 weeks.  pls suggest.

Hi!  I think you should talk to your doctor, and explain ALL of your symptoms, and get a professional opinion.  (Especially if you are having tightness in your chest and confusion.)  I would call someone first thing in the morning if not today.

Are you still taking the lorazepam?
