strange WD's

I guess the best way to describe it is a brain freeze or short circuit. I got a package in the mail which contained two dvd spindles used to record movies. I was in another room and my wife yelled at me about something I was cooking in the microwave burning. Well, I had unpacked the dvd.s put them in the microwave and set the  timer for three minutes. I have no memory of doing it at all. I decided not to drive or handle anything dangerous for at least another two days. It might be the sleep deprivation. Has anyone had this wd before?

if you drink too much water you could dilute your electrolytes that is possible

That's interesting that you haven't had the sweats. (Not even at night?) I'm glad you're hydrating. (Try to stay away from caffeine as it's dehydrating as you know.) I mentioned the electrolyte thing because an imbalance can cause mental confusion. Hang in there -- if this continues or worsens, I think you should consider going to your Dr. Better safe than sorry, eh?

Congrats again on Day 3. Great work! ;)

Wow! I've been around a bit in terms of w/d's but I don't think I've encountered what you've described as part of opiate withdrawal but everyone is different. I didn't sleep more than 1.5 to 2 hrs. per night for several months & experienced both audial & visual hallucinations but not the sort of 'fugue' state you mentioned. Everyone is different though.

Are you hydrating & eating properly. Hydration & electrolyte balance are really, really important during detox (& otherwise!) This means 2 to 3 liters of plain water per day. What other symptoms are you having, my friend?

I have been taking this medicine for three years with no side effects except to lower blood pressure. I have only had these episodes twice. once today and once yesterday. That would be day 2 and day 3 if detox. Never before detox.

Yup, you're on the most commonly prescribed BP medication. I have a couple more questions for you. (bear with me here ;) :

Were you taking the medication before or was it prescribed to you for detox? Are you experiencing anything like lightheadedness/diziness, swelling or numbness in your extremities?

Have you ever had these types of symptoms (i.e. the mental confusion) before or has this specifically been since the detox?

Hi!

The behavior you're describing (putting the dvd in the microwave & 'talking gibberish') sounds familiar. Are you by any chance taking benzos? This sort of thing used to happen with my ex whenever he took them. If so, the fix is easy enough. Just stay away from them if they affect you this way. If not & you aren't on any other medications/drugs & this sort of thing continues to happen, I'd see a Dr. Even though poor sleep & the neural/physical trauma of detox can definitely cause us to be foggy, this sounds a bit extreme. Hopefully, this will pass soon. (In the meantime, perhaps it might be best to let your wife do the cooking ;)

Hoping this passes soon & wishing you the best on Day 2 (Congrats!)

Yes...Yesterday my wife was talking to me and she said I starting talking gibberish. She shook me which felt like I was awoken from sleep. strange....I guess when I sleep well that will be gone.

Ok, I can't say I microwaved dvd's but yes, the lack of concentration is great. I find I have to think real hard about what I'm doing. Day 2 and 3 I went for dog food and Imodium and I didn't know if I was in my lane. How close to the line was i? I felt so foggy a drunk driver probably drove better. I would have to repeat' I put food in the microwave' or I was scared I was slurring my words, this was normal for me. And dissipated a little each day.
