suboxone detox

I have been addicted to herion for years.  About six months ago I started suboxone.  It was a miracle drug for me.  I felt like my old self.   That being said, I screwed up and started hanging out with some old 'friends'.  I started to use again.  since that time, I have tried to get back on Sub.  I waited 20 hours and thought I was ready but when I took the suboxone I went into rapid WD.  I was stuck out of town and did not get home for about 10 hours.  I thought that I was dying.  The first thing I did when I got home was use again, I could not stand the pain.

My question is, after I went into acute WD would it have been better to take another dose of Sub?  I was afraid to.

If you are pushed into rapid WD, what do you do?

I've been in that situation twice already, and both times I started suboxone too soon. I ended up taking more sub and maybe it helped or maybe not, but somehow with all the restlessness (Esp. RLS - restless leg syndrome), anxiety, hot/cold flashes, I made it through the night.

From what i understand, suboxone (partial agonist) competes with the full agonist (heroin, oxy, etc.) and the more Sub you use the more chance you have of plugging up the receptors that are used by the primary drug addiction (oxy for me). This competition can feel like ****, as the suboxone molecules bind to your brains receptors they also pull and block the molecules from the heroin/oxy. Feeling this neurological change is INTENSE and can knock anyone off their feet.

I just went through this a few days ago,  I still feel dazed and slightly uncomfortable at times. But in my opinion try more, not more than 24mg (I believe at that point Suboxone becomes useless) but anything between 4mg and 24mg should help if you already took some.

Most importantly don't take anymore heroin or pain killers, they won't help anything. Suboxone has a long half-life and will block any other opiods that enters your system.

I hope this helps, it's a tough battle but once you make it through you'll be like the rest of us, a LOT stronger and free of the addiction

Fact is, don't take suboxone unless your in atleast mild/moderate w/ds, there is no time limit, you must be in at least mild/moderate w/ds. beads of sweat on your brow, restless ness, achey, etc. mild/moderate. it's about how you feel, not what time it is

Im not a doctor...but when this has happened to people i knew...they took more sub and they were fine.
They had no way of getting more pills...or they would have taken pain pills instead i'm sure.

I thought you only had to wait 18-24 hours to start..........There must be another factor.
