suboxone withdrawals/

okay, i have been taking no more than  quarter of a 8mg pill for two years now. ive gone through withdrawals before and this time i am quitting for good as i am sick of not having control over my life. i took my last dose on monday in the morning. i went to my normal doctor and told him my situation and that no one  knew, he prescribed me a weeks worth of valium to help me sleep. but my question is after withdrawling before and having it only take five days unitll i could sleep again. its sunday now and its not any better. but in order to sleep i would take just one percocet at night and a valium in the morning just to get going, is this prolonging my withdrawals? i figured since suboxone is an opiode  i could get away with taking one percocet since my body isnt addicted to that.

Tramadol is a synthetic opioid-like drug with anti depressant qualities, which are very addictive and have a severe withdrawal. Use them sparingly if at all. Not trying to be negative, but I'm concerned about how eager you are to find a pill to end pill addiction. The main difference between medicine and drugs is behavior. Pill seeking has to stop at some point, or real recovery will always be just out of reach. I really hope you get some rest, so you can stop the pill seeking behavior and focus on new ways of dealing with each day as it comes.

Best of luck brother!! Please know there is alot more to this **** then just stopping. I used to think the same damn thing. Just get through the worst of w/ds and I'll be "fine'. I wasnt suggesting you taper. I too think its stupid, but for some it works. This isnt a one size fits all thing. You said you already feel like ****.?. Why not just go ahead and jump? What do you have to lose...sleep for a week or so. Seems alot less painful than dragging it out with one perc a night...

I have no experience with Sub. Quite frankly that **** scares me. I'll get to the point....At some point you WILL have to withdraw weather off Sub , Percs, whatever..I've only read and heard horror storys about coming off Sub. Maily that it can last for what feels like infinty. i promise you will not figure out a way to avoid withdraw. Yes!! you can taper down and it might be easier, but then again it might not. To me sh!tty is Sh!tty. If your feeling like Shyt now. Why drag it out. I know its hard...TRUST me i know. I'm coming up on 3 days off a nasty roxie habit. But i know from past experience I'm half way there. then it all down hill. Its your logic that got you here....think about that

Opiates and opioids are chemically the same. The only difference is that opiates are made from oriental poppies and opioids are made from raw materials in a lab. You're brain can't tell the difference. Look up chemical composition and you'll see, no difference. Suboxone is different, in that it is not only a opioid agonist, but an antagonist as well. It's a partial agonist at that. Meaning it fits the receptor site, but doesn't cover it entirely. Don't let yourself rationalize these things too much. I've seen people use norcos or perks to help with sub detox, but it didn't seem to help when looking at the big picture of recovery.

no,i get what you guys are saying but the thing is suboxone isnt an opiate, its and opiode, they are completely different things.. if my body was dependent on methadone then i would be basically screwing myself because its just a lower dose of the same thing (percs) thanks for the replys i appreciate  it. and correct me if im wrong on any of my logic.

I also agree with big! By taking the perks u are screwing ur self! I'm on suboxone as well and I went to drugs ******* ( can't put web sites do word dot is really . ) and it gave me a taper plan to get off and I'm sure it will work. Yes its going to take me 5 months but its worth it not to feel WD. If ur feeling shi**y now just get it over with. Ur only going to make things worse.

As long as you put opiates in you body, your body can't heal from the opiates. It's pretty simple. You are making the detox last longer. You're brain has to start producing the chemicals that it's used to getting from drugs. As long as the artificial chemicals are provided, the body doesn't feel a need to create them. I took valium twice, I think it made things worse. If I where to do it again, I would have waited a week or more and used a valium for sleep. Are you taking any vitamins, minerals, or amino acids? That's what helped the most for me. I used the valium too early and ended up taking lunesta a couple of time to sleep, somewhere after 2 weeks in. Exercise helps a lot too. I felt like my legs where full of lead and my body hurt when the wind blew, but I felt better after taking a walk or a swim. It's hard to stop looking for the pill solution, but time is the thing that heals us. The body wants to heal, we just have to stay out of the way.

I know for me...Just taking something to sleep is a mind f#!@. Its like evrytime your body tells you that you need something your feeding it. i honestly dont think there is an "easy" way to do this. Last week I only took enough (morphine DOC is roxies) to stay out w/d and be able to sleep. Cant really say now that it lessend the w/d. We always look for an easy way out. How long do you plan on continueing this? You feel sh!tty now anyway, why not just get it over with. I know...alot easier said than done. IMO you ARE ****** yourself.
