tramodyl

Tramadol I have been taking for about four weeks at 200mg per day. I have a totally fused shoulder caused by medical neglicence...golden staph infection. I have been depressive due to chronic pain and lack of sound sleep. Since I have been taking the drug...2 times 100 mg, my moods have improved and my pain has decreased by 50%. I live in the moment and for the first time in years, I am exercising at the rate I was at 40...I'm now 66, and pass for early fifties. I have always had hypertension, non organic, and the side effects of thes drugs decrease my energy levels. Tramodol seems to have restored some balance. I can now jog at least 3km up fairly steep mountain terrain, unknown of for at least ten years. I feel as if I'm forty again. I'm worried by the long term effects, but couldn't go back to where I was which was suicidal at times. Graham

Thanks for that. I have gone back to 100 mg per day, and that is enough to control the pain. I have yet to see what my surgeon says about my stuffed shoulder.

I totally agree with avisg, I started out taking 200 mgs per day and ended up taking 1,750 mgs per day (no lie). I had to quit c/t and it was horrible. You are right it does change  your mood and definitely gives you lots of energy, but the pills are just a temporary fix unless your doc is going to prescribe them to you for life. At some point you will have to stop taking them. I would talk to your doc now, before you get to the point when you start taking more. Eventually you will take more because your body will become used to that dosage and you will have to take more to achieve the mood and energy level you want. Trust me I know.

tramadol raises your serotonin levels light and ssri  antidepressant that's why you mood has improved so much.

tramadol is very addicting at some point your going to have to start raising your dosages .The wd coming off of it is terrible .

I would discuss your options with your doctor .
