um, I guess I'm withdrawing (?)

Is it possible to experience withdrawal after snorting one 15mg Morphine IR pill once every couple of days for about a month? I think that's what's going on -- either that, or morphine magically cures allergies/flu onset (sneezing, back pain, runny nose, muscle aches).

In your experience, how long did it take to develop physical dependency on opiates? I can't believe this has happened so quickly and at such an irregular and low dose. I only have one and 1/4 pill left. Plan to do 1/4 in AM to get through work tomorrow, and then come up with some taper plan for the rest of the week. I did 1/4 this am, now just on benadryl, & ibuprofen, and still achy. I feel like such a fool. I'm 50 yrs old....dam* mid-life crisis and trying to party like a kid :-).

I developed a habit strong enough to need outpatient IV fluid therapy for a three week sorta substantial morphine use - -  Morphine isnt exactly like other meds in that respect - -  not usually a drug of abuse either - but it ranks right next to fentanyl for ferocity.......... good news is that it doesnt last really long.........  PM me if you wish - I have a little medical experience (Combat Medic / Vietnam Era) - -   Lot of heroin probs over there back then....and speed to keep you awake all night......all available at the local mkt or for delivery by Mama-San to the perimeter fence!

thanks, y'all. although I was a wild thing back in my "prime" in the 80's, I never messed with the opiates, other than making sure I finished all my vicodins every time I got them for dental work. I was more of a tequila and coke kind of kid.

Fortunately, I was always able to stop everything when I had to. Just never experienced anything with a physical withdrawal. I was under the impression it took months of daily heavy use to get to where I am now. I'm just glad it's mild, in comparison to what lots of you guys are having to endure. And yes, once I get through this week, I have no plans to do  more. Have to admit though, I did like the effect. Made me feel VERY confident, social, and focused.
I did my little 1/4 pill this AM. Benadryl took care of the runny nose. About to take more ibuprofen for the muscle aches. Probably take another 1/4 pill tomorrow and then try Wed without. Then do one Thur, skip Fri and so on. Or should I go down to 1/8th per day first?

Sounds like wd to me too.  I hope you get off these ASAP.  Snorting is an addiction too and it can be harder to get off the pills.  You can really mess up your nose and sinuses.  The days of partying like a rockstar are gone.  There are other healthy ways to feel young again.  Let us know how you are doing                sara
