How long were you on Norco and what for?
stay away from the narco , you want to get clean not replace one addiction with another.
I posted a question out there to see if anybody has had any major damaged from taking Norco over a long period of time, I was in a terrible car accident which left me with a broken left elbow, wrist, femur and a crushed right foot that possibly needs to be amputated.
I strongly believe that if you keep active and try to exercise it realy helps you with the pain. Alot of these pain mngt doctors will prescribe anything you want especially if your on workmens comp like myself. These guys were giving me Morphine, Norco and Ambien all at the same time
. I was in a car accident and was pinned in the car and allmost died. Luckily the paramedics were able to cut me out of the car and I broke my left elbow, wrist, femur and had my right foot crushed. All has healed except for my rigth foot, which they want to amputate because all the bones were crushed and they werent able to save them. I;m trying to live with the pain because I cant come to terms with loosing my foot below the knee. Its one of those things in life were you have to look back and say "I'm still here". You cant let it get you down because it makes things worse.
Four years ago I got this awful pain in my lower left butt area. I went to so many doctors and had every test you could think of. No one knew what it was. Then I went to an orthopidic doctor. He tells me I need a total hip replacement. Well, I was at my wits end, so I said ok, do it. Needless to say, the operation was for nothing. I still have the pain. It has lessened somewhat, but is still there. So my pcp put me on tramadol for the pain. She told me it was not addictive and she kept giving it to me. I ended up in a mental hospital for a week. I took to much ambion to get out of the pain. So I since then changed doctors and they are trying to wean me off the tramadol. I do go to a therapist every week and she really helps quite a bit. I can live with the pain now. I work out and do the treadmill and that helps also.
Like the other person said " dont trade addictions". I take Norco because it works for me with all my pain and it doesnt make me drogy and I can do some of activities. It sounds like you have it under control and the side affect of being moody are just par for the course. Hang in there,
I do not mean to be nosy...but I dont remember why you are on here? could you fill me in
Just like to get to know everyone
thanks
I just came clean off a hydrocodone/lortab/norco addiction and it was not fun I will be clean 1 month today....those things make you feel great...til u dont have any and u fel horrible,,,at the end i felt horrible whether I took them or not...keep tapering your tramadol...please..In fact I would guesstimate that well over 50% percent of the people on here had a hydrocone addiction..it is bad news
I had have no side effects with tramadol. It made me have more energy. But my husband says it made me a different person, kind of moody and stuff like that.
Like any drug it is addivtive but the side affects are not as bad. Tramadol made me feel like I was having a heart attack. How does it affect you?
No no no.....I don't want to do that!!!
Norco is extremely addictive...do not trade one addiction for another...u r on the right track
No, I have never heard of Norco. Is it addictive?
I was on 100mg of Tramadol after my accident and that stuff has some bad side affect. I'm on Norco now and feel alot better. Have you tried Norco?
Should I start taking the klonidine or Zanax now, even though I don't have the withdrawals yet? I just feel tired today. I don't know when to take them.
I feel bad. I wish there was something I could do to help you!! Just take it slow and be good to yourself.
Yes, I did take one klonidine. Just kind of slowed things down a bit. But today I feel really, really tired. Yesterday I was full of energy. I did my work out, walked on the treadmill for 40 mins. Today I couldn't even do five mins. I am at work today ready to fall asleep.
its lessens the WD but it wont make it all go away ,have you tried the klonidine yet ?
I am doing ok ..........still sick taking it day by day
The doctor gave me Klonidine and Xanax if I needed to take them. I am just so afraid of going threw the wd. I just have it in my head that wd are not going to happen to me. How stupid of me!!! Stupid of me to get into this mess in the first place.
No. Please don't take this is me trying to negate from your motivation to quit. Unfortunately withdrawls can never be completely eliminated, however they can be controled and stabalized to form a more comfortable environment during your taper. It will be much smoother for you, I'm sure.
By weaning off slowly, does it mean that I won't go through any of the withdrawals? Or just less of them? I know when I did it cold turkey, I wanted to die. But I thought doing it this way, I wouldn't have any withdrawals. Is that true?
Ok, I will try it that way and see what happens.
How are you feeling today? I hope you are better.
Your weaning method seems fairly accurate. Keep in mind, that the lower your dose go's, the slower you should wean in attempts to minimize the level of discomfort. I would start cutting it by halves once you've hit the 4th pill. However, follow your body's messages. If it tells you to go slower, than do so, if it tells you to go faster, than ditto. Good luck. Keep posting
try the two 3 times a day if its too much spread them out
I was taking between 12 and 15 50mgs pills. Then I cut down to eight for one week, then seven, and this week six. I have been taking them for four years.
