what i can do now

just curoius because ive never been here before(clean).......its been almost a week now and im clean. I dont ever want to go back to those damn pills. I moved out of Florida and went to another state so i could quit. It worked so far but my question is what do i do now to not think about these damn pills. Also after a week does the no sleep continue or do you sleep??? Also do you feel better, what im saying is has your body finally stopped craving those pills?

You're going to still think about them and you are still going to crave them.In the beginning it will happen more frequently then it does after you have some more time under your belt.I've been clean for over a year and occasionally I will have a day when out of the blue I just start craving.I wish I could say after so much time it doesn't happen, but if thats true I haven't gotten there yet.I have already given in to the fact that it is indeed a life long battle and that I can never let my guard down. Now you work on your recovery. You put as much effort into your recovery,if not more,as you did to feeding your addiction,meetings,counseling....The lack of sleep and lack of energy seem to be the 2 physical symptoms that take the longest to subside, but in time they do get better.I find that exercise is just about the best remedy for both. You could look up the amino acid protocol in the health pages here, many swear by them.Keep your body and your mind busy doing positive things that bring you enjoyment.Give yourself some time, you're learning to live again. It does get better,I promise you that......All the best...Kim
