I was addicted to roxis before I moved up to heroin. They are basically oxycontins, only oxycontins consist of oxycodone (the opiate in the pills) and a time release system that causes the oxycodone to be released over 12 hours. Roxis, however, have no time release mechanism. They are basically instant release oxycodone. Roxis also have no other active ingredients (such as tylenol which is a common additive to prescription pain medications) and that makes them even more prone to abuse than your average pain pill.

As far as quitting roxis goes, its no different than quitting any other opiate. She will be very physically sick for about 1.5 weeks. And then after she gets through the initial physical sickness, there will be a longer period of post acute withdrawals. These post acute withdrawals for me consisted of intense boredom, lack of motivation, and depression. I am just now starting to feel my post acute withdrawal symptoms ease up, and I have been almost 8 months clean from opiates.

Despite contrary belief, I feel like it is possible to quit opiates even when you do want to, or are forced to do it. I was forced to go to rehab by my dad when I was 20, after I got kicked out of my moms house and had to move in with him. He basically told me I would have to leave if I did not go to the rehab and stay clean. Although my addiction to opiates was very strong, I guess my desire to not live on the streets again was stronger, because I ended up going to rehab and I am still clean from opiates 8 months later.

Billy its n the opiate family(ultram, lortabs(vicodin),perkcaset(sp?),oxycontin, herion etc).I'd say roxis r closest n strength2oxycontin.Roxis r VERY addictive. Its rough to figure her level of addiction w/o knowing ANY details of HER situation. Here's what I know for sure about roxis. There incredibly addictive,ur tolerance developes quickly. There very strong w/very little buffer. The first3pain killers I named n the list above have a lot of buffer(tylenol or asprin)roxis like oxys have such little buffer+make them easy2snort+shoot up.Does ur friend nod out? That's truelly when they become similar to heroin(done roxi not heroin but I been told that100times by others I personally hated nodding out)I was doing on average150mg+of lortab when I quit138days ago.I did have a few months where I did roxis 2yrs ago moved 2000 miles away+a huge reason was to get me off roxis).I'd been prescribed lortabs every month.Once I tried the roxi I would sell 170tabs(kept10),buy roxis+of course spend A LOT more eventually on them through the month. They come n15+30mg.B4the roxis I was taking40-60mg of lortabs a day.Once I started roxis I couldn't feel lortabs at all.I was snorting roxis w/n a month150mg of such a concentrated opiate(I feel lucky2b alive). If u have questions please ask.1st u need2sit down address her addiction ask?:how much is she taking, how(oral, snort, smoke, shoot),daily? Here's the thing SHE has2want2quit.U cant force, guilt her n2quiting NO1can.B prepared addicts r the best liars/manipulators n the world.Do u really think she wants2quit?What about an intervention? Can u get family/friends2get on board?Get back2me w/answers+questions.Also detox can b done at home if necessary(there r things that she will need2help ease them we can direct u as2what).If she does that she will need someone2help her for a few days. Also she as long as no pre-exsisting conditions its safe2detox dnt worry she cant die+as long as she stays hydrated she won't have2worry about the hospital.Does she have a Dr she could c2get meds2help w/her w/d.I'm getting WAY ahead of myself as we need2know if she will even b willing2quit,if u have others that may help w/an intervention etc
