TORADOLORAL (ketorolac tromethamine), a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), is indicated for the short-term (up to 5 days in adults), management of moderately severe acute pain that requires analgesia at the opioid level and only as continuation treatment following IV or IM dosing of ketorolac tromethamine, if necessary. The total combined duration of use of TORADOLORAL and ketorolac tromethamine should not exceed 5 days.
TORADOLORAL is not indicated for use in pediatric patients and it is NOT indicated for minor or chronic painful conditions. Increasing the dose of TORADOLORAL beyond a daily maximum of 40 mg in adults will not provide better efficacy but will increase the risk of developing serious adverse events.
I think he should take this under a doc supervision but it is not a narcotic...I have had injections at the drs office but have never taken it orally....

Don't laugh at me Worried878 that's what the google site said:-)
If you husband has been taking 20 lortabs a day and he's out today he's going to be feeling pretty bad so please be patient with him. I don't think the toradol stuff is going to help WD. I did have a shot of it in the butt a few months ago when I pulled a muscle. I asked if it was opiate and it isn't.
Toradol....I believe is another name for Tramadol/Ultram. If you look up Ultram it comes up under many different names. I could be wrong...but i remember seeing this on wikipedia or some other site.
Ultram and Toradol are two completley different drugs...you're thinking of Tramodol
I wonder if he meant Tramadol/Ultram, not Toradol? I can't imagine Toradol doing anything for w/d's. Tramadol/Ultram, however is like an opiate, but it's less addictive. However, I have gone through Ultram withdrawals after extended use and it was NOT pleasant.
If it is Toradol and not Tramadol, you have to be very careful with Toradol. It is an anti-inflammatory and should only be used for 5 days at a time. It WILL cause liver damage with overuse. I take it for my shoulder pain and sometimes my cramps. It's like heavy-duty ibuprofen.
I had toradol when I had my wisdom teeth pulled took it for a week..had no issues. I have a close friend who takes it for severe back injuries/pain she suffered from a car accident. Her husband was addicted to oxycontin and the doctor knows this so this is the only pain medication he will prescribe her because it is not on the same level as the opiate pain killers that so many become addicted to and to not have anything stronger in the house with a former pain pill addict. So I wouldn't worry to much about it...it's not anything near what the other opiate pain pills are capable of.
tordahl is like motrin it is an nsaid - only prescription strentgh and also has anti inflamatory properties. i wouldnt be worried about tordahl i would be worried if hubby is taking something else but showing you the tordahl.
ketorolac is a pain killer. That is injectable and can be taken oraly it is a short term medication for sever pain. Like any other pain relever it can be very adictive. While taking this medication i recomend that you slowly ween your self off of it. there is many harmful side affects when using long term
