the people i personally know who find sustained, peaceful recovery with sub were on for a LONG time . . . YEARS, not months or days. they worked closely with their docs, taking enough in the early days to remove all craving (and actually ability) to use and
AT THE SAME TIME they get into and work their program of recovery.
sub is a serious tool for fighting addiction, IF IT'S USED PROPERLY . . . physician controlled, high dose early on, long term, slow taper, sub use, combined with the necessary recovery work, can get you from the hell of active addiction to the freedom of abundant life in recovery.
sub used improperly, especially in an on-and-off-again fashion, doesn't help at all and can hurt.

Subutex is a long acting, powerful opiate. It didn't work for you or you didn't take it long enough because it apparently didn't help you at all with your cravings. Think of another way to stop the pills. Sub comes with it's own set of troubles. If you continually relapse you may go to the Sub but why not Suboxone instead? Do your research...
Sub can be a good adjuvant to recovery care but it needs to be used cautiously and for the briefest amount of time.
Good luck! You'll get no judgement here so keep in touch!
Don't beat yourself up, and don't feel bad. Addiction is hell. If this Is your first time detoxing please make it your last. It just get worse. I'm speaking from experience as I am detoxing once again.
How many Norcos were you taking? Do you think you can detox without the Sub? Look for help here... You might feel something from the Norco, but the Sub does have a long half-life and blocks other opioids from binding.
Be careful, if you go on the sub, use it to detox for less than a week and stop as sub withdrawals can be so much worse than Norco.
I'm sure someone will come along to give you more advice. Hang in there.
