I was just about to say it and Eagle nailed it...Muchausens. She needs help before she hurts the little girl.

Thats goofy - - she goes to extremes to obtain an antibiotic for her child and never adminsters it?    The closet that I can come is "muchhausens syndrom by proxy" .   This is a real, but psychological, condition in which a guardian (usually parent..) enjoys (or needs..) the attention that results form having a sick child and the attendant fuss and attention the Docs and staff show the parent ..........................................................Plain Muchausens is when the adult needs the attention and manufactures illnesses to obtain it..........

Amoxicillin is a simple antibiotic and has no abuse potential that I know of...so, I'm at a loss as to why she's doing this.
