40 mgs of methadone is a blocking dose- He would not feel the effects of the heroine.

Even if he is not supplementing the methadone it is not an easy thing to stop.....the old cliche "he must want to.." is hard to bring into play when he is visiting a clinic and hasnt really bottomed out.  Some clinics do "blind dosing" where they lower the dose, at your request, but they do it without you knowing. This is suppossed to eliminate the anxiety that accompanies lowering a dose ...... might be something to think about - - most clinics do not seem very anxious to get you off the stuff.............

if he is doing both , it's most likely the "having your cake and eating it too" syndrome. i went through that many years ago. most places that distribute methadone do urine testing though, so i doubt if he can keep it up much longer. if i misunderstood your meaning, i apologize.     sway

Are you saying he's taking methadone and still using heroin or that he is getting high from his methadone dose?
