why the pep?

I feel like I'm tired all the time (in my normal life) and when I was prescribed hydrocodone for a few months for an injury I felt all around much better.  I got more done, had more energy..etc etc..  Why does that happen with this medication?  Now that I'm going to be stopping them I wanted to find something that would help give me more pep.  I already drink coffee.  I am on cymbalta but I feel like I've always had issues with being tired more than the normal person for the last 12 years. Any thoughts or ideas?

I like your name!

I actually take the cymbalta for borderline OCD/anxiety.  However, I hadn't heard that about cherry extract and might as well give it a try since I have peptic ulcer disease and have regular bouts of stomach pain.

Thanks

I got the same feeling from morphine.  In my own life's time it was God sent.  I was on a ton of medication and very suicidal.  I had already lost all joy in life.  Suddenly I had something to live for.

What you have felt is "euphoria."

Opiates hop some people up, and make others sleepy.  There's no rhyme or reason.

Exercise is about the only thing I could suggest.  If you're looking for pep in drug form, you're looking forward to a life of addiction.  Is that really what you want?

Concerning cymbalta, I've heard wonderful things about it.  I have no experience with it.  I suppose you take it for chronic pain.  So, hear we go again.  I've suggested to many people on this forum to take cherry juice extract for chronic pain.  You can find it at your local grocery.  It's a syrup.  Take 1 - 2 table spoons each day.  Give it a week or two.  Search online for info.  I was skeptical at first.  I have chronic pain, and it works.
