I'm on methadone mantinece and xanax 1mg 2x a day and they just did a test and sent out for breakdown, they are telling me valum came up in the test and i have NO clue why, someone please explain why this could have happened?

I agree with the above.  It would be RARE for a Methadone clinic to agree to take on a patient on benzos, even if they are taken as Rx'ed.  Does your clinic know about the Xanax?  And they were okay with it?

It would depend on what send out test they did.  If it came back specifically as positive for Valium, then I'm assuming they did a pretty comprehensive test.  

You can always ask to be retested if you KNOW you didn't take Valium, but like the posters said above, really, this is a bad mix to begin with, and not a good idea.  People have died from this combo of medications, pretty frequently.

xanax and methadone are both respiratory and central nervous system depressants and should never be taken together.

Hi. It came up like that because of the xanax. Are you getting the Dones & xanax from the same place?? Or if not, does the Methadone place know you are on the xanax??
