withdrawal from Methadone and Xanax at a proximately the sane time

I've been on Methadone 30mgs for 10 years. I was also on an antidepressant, Xanax, and Buspar. I also used Neurontin for chronic pain. I got fired from my pain management Dr. Because I continued to use the Xanax, after 3 warnings. Then my medical doc dismissed me from his care, saying I was a drug seeker. That was not true. I had called and asked for Xanax with refills, and Buspar. He saw those calls on my chart and jumped to conclusion. Also told me he doesn't prescribe pain meds. I told him I was not asking for anything but refills on my Xanax. He gave me one bottle of X.and told me to find another Dr. The only one I knew that I could get into see, cannot prescribe Xanax. I wanted to go to a detox or substance abuse facility, but I have no insurance but medicare, and I have no money. They wanted $1220, and the Subutex cost around $300 a month, so I will have to do this at home. The clinical director of detox told me not to stop the Xanax, while in withdrawal from Methadone. She said I would have a seizure. So I'm down to 2.5mg of Methadone and tomorrow will be my first day without it. I only have about 20 days left of,Xanax. I'm without a primary doc now. Tried to get in to see one doc I knew, but he can't prescribe Xansx. I guess I will try this at home. I guess I should taper off the X. real slowly. I also used to take Neurontin for pain, which is mainlyan anti seizure drug. I have about 25 600 mg pills. My question is while I taper off the Xanax, when should I start with the Neurontin to try to avoid seizing at hhome. I hope this all makes sense and someone has answer for me. I have to try to get thru this without having a lot of trouble. Thanks

Great job on your methadone taper. You did awesome.
Take vitamins, drink protein shakes, stay hydrated,move around as much as possible.
What dosage of xanax are you on?
You should lower your dosage slowly to avoid seizures.
Yes neurontin is used for withdrawal.

Definitely taper the Xanax, at least taper with what you have left, in case you don't find a new doctor. Not sure about Ok, but if we were in severe Xanax withdrawal locally, we can go to the ER and they will give out enough to prevent seizures. That may be an option. Do you have anyone to take you if it gets that bad? You shouldn't drive yourself in that condition.

I came off methadone and I had almost nothing ultram which i took less than ten, I also had an antihistimine, I never came off xanex like that. Take it slow, people will be on here later with suggestions. breathe pray and drink plenty of watre, makes sure u go to an er if it gets to bad because of possible seizures make sure someone knows that can check on you. i did it in my bed with the help of MH and one friend, I wish i would have went to aftercare while detoxing (AA NA CR) something. but I didnt i go to NA now, and it has changed my life I have ruptured discs and bad arthritis and I havent taken anything stronger than a motrin or alieve in over a year. is it possible yes, can you survive yes, is it worth it HECK yea, is it hard...FOR SURE one of the hardest things I have ever done in my life, but I would do it again to experience the freedom I have today...Look up the thomas recipe I hear it helps I didnt use it but I should have I am stubborn best of luck PM if u need me
