Stay away from the tramadol! While it will temporarily relieve the opiate w/d, it will sneak up on you and bite you in the rear end!! The w/d from it is longer and more painful!!! Been there, done that.
Thank you, this is so good to know. I did not know about tramadol. I do feel motivated to keep on and get off the cycle. Thank you again everyone for such good advice.
geez, now there's 3 above me, srry 1 snuck in while writing, probly another while doing this correction. lol
does that make it clear about trams yet?
I have first hand experience with this one! I thought I had found the magic bullet when I took tramadol and stopped taking Norco. Virtually no withdrawals! BAD IDEA! The tramadol binds to the same opiate receptors in the brain, so the brain thinks it continues to have what it needs. Problem: Tramadol has a longer half-life in the body, In other words it lasts longer in the body so the withdrawals that you have only postponed, last longer that the withdrawals from the original hydrocodone. I am a nurse and didn't know all of this til I lived it and did some research. Save yourself some grief and deal with only one withdrawal! You really can do it.
i totally agree with the two above me. i went to a shrink around 50 days ago who prescribed me 1 time bottle of trams 60 count of 50mg's, and refillable bottle of gabapentins. i googled the snot out of them, came here...... saw all the horror strories of trams and wont use them. just do the supliments, baths, etc recommended on this website and gabapentins if you need more.
Just wanted to agree with the above. Tramadol not only has opiate effects, but re-uptake blockers that make it difficult for your brain to reabsorb your natural nuerotransmitters. Meaning your brain is less motivated to heal it's natural production and balance of brain chemistry. Time is your best friend.
Bad idea - keep reading and you'll find all the horror stories about tramadol. I'm begging you - PLEASE DON'T DO IT!!
it will, but tram is like a synthetic opiate so it will just mask the w/d and tram has its own w/d the best thing i found that helps is gabapentin/nuerontin
