Welcome...First, I'd recommend that you read some of the posts on this forum. You'll find many others who are going through / have been through what you are experiencing.
Although I didn't use it, the Thomas Recipe has been around for a long time. But basically, you have to try and eat, drink lots, and take vitamins when you're able. At about day three or four of no meds, try and exercise. The worst of the physical detox will be over in about four days, but the mental battle will continue. Take hot showers, and understand that the sweats and anxiety are a normal part of the detox. Hard to do, but try not to listen to your head; the time will pass and before you know it, you will be feeling better and on the road to recovery. I can promise you that life without meds is great. Hang in there and keep posting. We are here for you.
Kyle covered it, but yes, everything you're experiencing right now is related
to the opiate detox. I went through it, and many, many others have who post here. It's no cake walk, but you can get through it with a good attitude.
Know you're going to suffer, but it will END. Stay busy, the more distractions the better. I could barely tie my shoe the first 3 days, so I know it's hard to do
anything, but get moving, reading, watching TV, eating small portions,
DRINKING LOTS OF WATER...HUGELY IMPORTANT. flush your body.
HANG TOUGH.
Thanks to both of you. I'm glad to know that drinking lots of water will help. I didnt think of that.
