Oh god, this is going to be soooooo embarrassing to share. But ok, I'll share it. It really was silly though. A desperate woman's effort to make the best out of the sweats and chills.
I pictured these round little endorphin cartoon characters with stick figure arms and legs and big smiles and eyes. And I pictured them stretching and rubbing their eyes awake and blinking and starting to dance around while in my mind I sang "happy happy 'dorphies, waking waking up!"
Oh god, ok now I'm blushing and feel very very silly.
But hey, it worked for me. Whatever works. lol
Ok Kip, your turn. Tell us about ten junkies in the bush!

Hi Missy,
I really hear the determination and the surrender in your words. You CAN do this. You really can. It takes wanting it very badly, and it takes putting as much energy into your recovery as it you have put into your addiction, if not more.
A couple more suggestions. Take a lot of vitamin C and B complex. Some folks swear by that. Also be sure to take a multimineral capsule that includes zinc, mangnesium, and manganese.
When you feel the sweats and the chills, psych yourself into seeing this as a good thing. Think about it as your body getting back to normal, getting its own endorphins to wake back up. Visualize the endorphins waking up! I had this whole very silly cartoon image of endorphins stretching awake and dancing around. It's a bit embarrassing to admit, but the image really helped. It was so damn silly it made me laugh. I even made up a silly little song to go along with it. lol
Something that got me through the most intense parts was praying, and affirming my love for myself. Just love yourself like there is no tomorrow. Grieve for the part of you that got stuck in the jaws of the Dragon, and rescue yourself from that underworld. Get help. Real time in person help. I had my husband, and I had friends from this forum writing to me every hour. I couldn't have done it without that.
So we will be with you every step of the way. Write me at ***@**** if you'd need some email support.
You can do this, you really can. Never give up. Never stop reaching for the light, as our old friend Wiz would say.
lots of love and light to you,
WW
god bless you skipper, I don't know how you do it, but you do. I wish you the best, so far, I'm doing ok, I will fill you in later.
Groovy:

may try every 2 weeks. they are my idea (?).
remember JB? he told me "if it doesn't kill you, it's good for
you!" and i might add, the good dr steve thought the same. HEY
WHERE IS JB AND HOW IS IT GOING ANYHOW?
how goes the carpal tunnel recovery?
hi - how often exactly do you put yourself thru detox? and, i wondered if it was recommended by your dr., or is it just something you feel you need to do?
