Yes, in my experience with opioids, they definitely constipate you and I was even having trouble urinating. There would be a loooooong delay, and then like almost nothing trickled out. But when I started detoxing, I knew I would get a bad stomach, so I took Imodium for the first 2 to 4 days. That kept the GI problems at bay. When I stopped taking it, thank God, it was normal. I think the opioids just numbs everything and your body just stops working right. When you detox, the drug comes out of your system and you are so blocked up, then you get a good cleansing. It's because you have opiate receptors in your intestines. It usually only lasts day 1-6 and Immodium is handy, and works.
