Drinking makes problems with anxiety much worse. When your drunk, the brain is flooded with all those feel good chemicals. The next day, your brain is "washed out" and temporary anxiety and depression sets in until brain chemicals replenish(about a day or two.) The constant drinking never allows this to happen.
he's soooo young. bless his heart....he needs to go to a detox center and medically detox off the alcohol if he's been drinking that much every day for an extended period of time as there is a risk of seizure going cold turkey. there are usually some free of charge detox centers in every town of any size. then i'd suggest AA. it's really helping me - A LOT.
i agree with ibizan, he doesn't need to be taking klonopin with alcohol. also, he can't just quit the klonopan cold turkey either or he may have seizures from the withdrawal.
good luck!

Klonipin addictive drug for alcoholics and bad news combined with alcohol.how long he been taking that?
dizziness is a part of having an impaired liver....i hated the dizzy feelings..i had them all the time after i quit drinking...mine lasted about 9 months...6 months really bad...it takes a long time to regenerate a liver thats gone through that much alcohol....maybe try some gatorade next time he gets dizzy..could be his electrolytes...one thing for sure you gotta take care of you and your kids if he's going under...let him go and get out of there if he doesn't stop...i have to wonder if he comes from a drinking familly...the anxiety that drinking causes is a drag...while drinking...while going through withdrawals...and for some time after withdrawals...if he does quit then get him some help...see a doctor..withdrawals from stopping that much alcohol can be dangerous..good luck...billy
He is on perception drugs (klonopin and paxil cr) but no street drugs or anything like that. He has been drinking since he was young maybe when he was 15-16 yrs old he drank on the weekends. Now for almost 2 years he drinks everyday. He quit fr 5months in 06 then started up again.
After years of drinking, I began to get anxiety attacks and dizziness. My heart would also beat rapidly as the alcohol wore off. This is what made be cut back and later quit. It took 6 weeks for the dizziness to go away (after pretty much stopping). Stupid me, started to drink on a limited basis (this was last summer) and it problem gradually came back. I've stopped more seriously since december and the dizziness has gone away. He may have other issues too, but the beer is really doing a number on him.
it sure can and sounds like it is!thats a lotta beer!how may years has he been drinking 4?any drug use?
