Our Reality~

Yesterday i buried a friend/coworker.  She had struggled with alcohol and drugs for quite some time.  Her death was ruled suicide.  The toxicology report is not back yet.  Today i received a call from my coworker at my other job.  Her daughter was murdered by her husband who then took his life.  Alcohol and drugs were a part of this devastation also.  They were both 47.  My coworker is an older lady who has a heart of gold.  She took me under her wing when i started my job, she and i talk about everything.  I was in shock when she told me the tragic events that took place. My heart aches for her and her family and it also aches for the ones who died.  They both were in such a bad place, going thru a divorce and rage took over.  The scary part is this could be any one of us.  None of us are exempt from this sort of thing happening if we would pick up and use again.  These 2 deaths were so uneccesary but their addictions took over.  Please do whatever it takes to stay sober.  Talk, go to meetings, see your therapist, pastor etc.  Tonight i am grateful for my sobriety~sara

Very sorry to hear all this Sara. it makes us grateful that we've found our sobriety and can hold on to it one day at a time. There are so many Yet's out there waiting for us to go back out and experience. All we can do is surround ourselves in the atmosphere of recovery every day. Without our program of recovery we are vulnerable.

All the babies are good.  Weather is finally cooperating so hopefully the dogs can get to the lake for a much needed swim.  Ticks are thick at the park so havent taken them.  They have had their flea and tick treatment but i still worrying about those damn ticks.  It took Cali awhile to get back to herself after kitty passed.  She still looks for him at times even now.  I remember how bad kitty grieved after the beagle passed.  That about broke my heart but they are both together again and i am sure he is ambushing her!!!  Your boy is running pain free now.  We will be reunited with them again~
