Would my dr. give it to me?  I am an alcohalic and vicodin addict.  I just can;t do it. I am constantly thinking about drugs an alcohal. My husband has me stranded at house in the mts.

I am nausesous and shaky and have this feeling of impending doom.  I have been an addict for 15 yrs, My doctor is tapering me at 2 pills a day. She has no idea that I have been taking 12 @ day buy running 3 scripts a month.

I need help.

Before you look at Subs you need to get real honest with yourself first.  You have to tell your doctor what you are doing here.  3 different scripts is also going to get you a felony soon.  That is considered doctor shopping.  Pharmacies are upgrading their systems world wide now and soon it will show all the scripts you are getting and where you are getting them from.  You dont want that trouble.  Please just get honest, get on a program and get your life back~

Suboxone...when used properly combined with outpatient counseling and a support group has a good outcome! .U've gotten some great advice here and I can't add anything more!

I just saw your home page. We have something in common. I was sober for 27 years and then went out on Vicodin. Then I drank. so, I'm doing a comeback also. Don't feel alone with this.

Yes, you do need help.  Your best bet, I think, would be inpatient treatment followed up by outpatient therapy.  I've done it.  I am totally clean now 3 months, and not craving anything.  I feel good.  You can feel good, too. :-)  Blessings - Blu

Sub is a drug that takes over for the opiate it replaces, but doesn't produce the high when taken as directed. When you take it, it prevents the withdrawal symptoms. It also levels you out on a steady dose. You wouldn't feel the need for more and more. My brother in law has been on it for 6 years after a huge Vicodin habit. He has a "sub" doctor. Ain't going to hurt to ask your doctor!

Are you interested in getting your life back and stop using? You mention your husband has u stuck up in the hills all alone. When we get clean we learn to accept life on life's terms. Learning to enjoy life drug free where ever we may be.

If you want to quit, you need to be completely honest and accountable with your doctor. I'm surprised the computer systems don't catch on to the 3-scripts you get from different sources. Being addicted isn't a social problem, it's a disease and from your description you're in it's grips. You CAN stop though. It takes willingness, and you can do it. Look at this site as a link to the outside world. You can make lots of friends on here. Post under addiction: substance abuse" also. Lots of folks on there day and night. We want to help you. Becoming drug and alcohol free is what these forums are about. Wishing you the best!
