I am an alcoholic,I had no problem functioning "normally"I raised 2 beautiful children one with Tourette Syndrome,I taught him at home and he got into university on his academic merit. But I drank every day and abused codeine at the same time only your husband can admit he's an alcoholic and only he can do something about it.Listen to Ray and find an Al-anon meeting they can help you deal with how it makes you feel,
Good Luck

I'm a recovering alcoholic. The quickest way to describe myself: In the early years I wouldn't let my drinking get in the way of my responsibilities, family/loved ones, interests and hobbies. As I crossed over to full alcoholism my responsibilities, family/loved ones, interests and hobbies all got in the way of my drinking.
If you and others have concerns about your Husbands drinking then the chances are that he has a problem.
Dose he forget things when he drinks (blackouts), dose he have trembling especualy in the morning? Dose he appear to be depressed?
Alcoholism is progressive and will get worse BUT there is nothing you can do for him until he wants to stop. You may need to get some help for yourself as it is causing you some concern, enough concern to seek help on this community :)
For a start you should get to an an Al-Anon meeting and work from there.
