No side effects what so ever

Am I extraordinary?  In about 05-06 I was drinking 2 1.75 ltr of whiskey per week. Then I went to the Virginia islands for about 3 years. There I switched to vodka and drank a liter a day at least before we went out drinking. This was 7 days a week. After getting board with that I moved back to mainland (colorado). Here now for 5 years, I have been drinking about 2-3 1.75 liters per week. I recently went to doc and was diagnosed with ascites. Doc said I had to quit drinking. So I quit drinking 15 days ago. The extraordinary thing is that I have had zero side effects. I don't even think about it. I guess I don't get the whole detox and ill physical effects thing. Am I extraordinary?

Consider yourself lucky, because it is hellish! And even dangerous. For instance, I cannot quit drinking cold turkey or I could have a seizure and heart attack. My doctor even told me not to stop drinking all together. Its a process, with medication and treatment of course.

Yes, it's strange. Count yourself lucky and don't use this as a sign that you didn't have a problem. Because it sounds like you did/do gave a drinking problem. Hopefully, it's behind you now.  But I wouldn't be surprised if the cravings and mental obsession (that you can drink) pop up in your mind in the future. Good luck.
