I quit in '99 for good , although we are all only one drink away from a drunk.and i've done my homework. AA is always there, if ever the need arise. I used AA a great deal, through meetings and sponsorship in the first year especially. I've never missed drinking or doing drugs, and my life has change so dramatically for the good.. As for the weight i made the mistake of replacing food with the alcohol/drugs and am now looking at losing 80 lbs. Cross addiction is a real threat and must be dealt with. Pay me now or pay me later. Right is right.
I was once told that there is no such word as cannot!better put i'm just NOT yet committed to stop! One hour at a time, one day at a time....31 years ago...i stopped....suprising myself and many around me!
I'm the same. Every morning I'm determined, every evening I drink at least a bottle of wine. I have put on 2 stone as a result, but still can't stop, even though I'm getting married next month. Argh! How are you getting on since posting this?
Welcome. Congrats on coming to the realization that you have an addiction and are ready to stop. Alcohol has nothing positive to offer you. You will be a much happier person when you stop.
Keep posting. Have a plan in place. Stay close!
well sounds like a first step toward a healthier existence to me!
ppl do live w/out wine, quite happily i might add, hope you stick around....
