Redness on sides of nose.

Hi. Ever since last year, I have developed redness on both sides of my nose. I have tried hydrocortisone cream, neosporin, vitamin e, and so on. None of these have completely worked, only some have barely lightened the redness for about a week. I have seen a dermatologist, who said that there was nothing to do but wait due to broken blood vessels. I am thirteen, and have many allergies (and a slight case of hand eczema), and I have started allergy shots beginning last month. I need these spots gone in 1 month, if that is possible. thanks!

thanks for all your suggestions, and they are good ideas. My ENT just gave me three things: Astepro nose spray, Amoxicillin, and prednisone. The prednisone has already started clearing up the redness after one dose! The nose spray is great, and the antibiotic works fine as well. I'll keep you posted on any updates.

Hi
Thanks for keeping me posted!
Yes, its rare for eczema to be on both sides of nose, except in SLE or lupus. Test for SLE and see if you have that. Also contact dermatitis can be on both sides.
Please discuss this with your doctor. Maybe seek a second opinion from another dermatologist. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Hi
Welcome to the forum!
This could be a case of eczema like the one you have on your hand. Also SLE or lupus should be ruled out as it typically causes rash on the face on either side of nose. Also it could be due to contact dermatitis due to any eye cosmetic or any other cosmetic you use.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
