Hello,
Yes, any weather change can affect arthritis. I have Osteoarthritis in my spine and my shoulder. Also, Fibromyalgia can be diagnosed by a Neurologist and in some ways in makes more sense, but since Rheumatologists have set the criteria for diagnosing and treatment, it is much better to at least be seen by a Rheumatologist for the initial diagnosis and treatment suggestion.
Sometimes other types of doctors opinions do not hold up in court if you ever were to have to file for disability. Not saying that you would ever need to file, but it's always good to have that strength there for you. There is no reason why you can't be treated by a Neurologist, but I would at least be seen by a Rheumatologist for an initial work-up. Also, there is always a chance something else could be going on (like Lupus, or Rheumatoid Arthritis) and they are trained to find out. I don't mean to scare you. :) I just am all about being thorough. I've been through a lot in my life. Good luck to you.

cold can make arthritis hurt more, I have fibromyalgia and no matter what the condition is, any change is weather, stress, sickness will affect it. Also fibromyalgia has certain places that hurt more, mostly joints. It probley would be a good idea to see a neurologist. Hope that helps
