High ESR and CRP

Hello,

I have sore finger joints, sore wrists, elbows, shoulders, knees, ankles, and toes. I am stiff and sore in the mornings for at least an hour sometimes it takes all I have to get out of bed. I see a rheumatologist but I can't get him to give me a definite diagnosis. My ANA and RF have always been negative but I have had a high ESR and CRP. I am on Enbrel, Plaquenil, and methotrexate.

Thanks for any and all comments.

I have been on the Plaquenil for quite a while now.  The methotrexate I have been taking since I started going to this Dr., which was about five years. I have pain in mostly my joints but I also have some in the connective tissue also.

Thanks for your comment.

So sorry to hear you are in the same boat as me.  I have very similar pain and I have a positive ANA one time and negative the next time and the same on the RF.  It sounds like, as in my case, it is RA or Lupus.  For me it is gearing more to Lupus since my pain is mostly in my muscles and connective tissue, not my joints.  I'm rather surprised he would start you on methotrexate without a diagnosis.  How long have you had these issues?  How long have you been on your meds?  Plaquenil is first line of treatment for both RA and Lupus and takes at a minimum 3 months to show results.  I'm 5 months in and starting to really see a difference.
