Joint Pain and PCOS

For many years now (at least 15) I have had various degrees of joint pain. The pain is often made worse by repetitive movements, i.e. I used to play piano but it started to hurt my fingers and wrist, and I play sports and go regularly to the gym so I constantly have ankle, knee and hip pain.
I have always had positive ANA but just recently had a RF come back positive at 44. The doctor wants to 'monitor' this but I’m worried as it had been going on for so long.
I have recently lost 30kgs (hence all my physical activity) and have been diagnosed with PCOS. I need to train to keep my weight down for the PCOS but my joints suffer for this.
A little confused about what to do?

see if your doctor and ask if metformin would be of any use to you, i was put on it for my facial hair even though i'm not diabetic ... 2 months later my facial hair is slowly reducing but the really surprise is all my pain is gone from my hips and hands,  and i can knit, write  type, bike even long walks its really given me my life back,

I can really relate to your post.  I had PCOS and I have RA.  When you are experiencing symptoms like you describe, even a low positive RF like 44 should be investigated by a rheumatologist.  If your doc is a rheumy, change docs and repeat as necessary.  Early treatment is important so I think you are right to want to pursue this now.  Please keep us posted on how you are doing and we will support you as you pursue this.
