My doc in California 20 years ago did a bunch of tests and diagnosed me with rheumatoid arthritis. The doc here says I don't have arthritis, which would be great news except that I am still very stiff, weak, and in lots of pain. Also, my joints are changing shape and grinding and making noise. The doc here says the test results don't support a diagnosis of arthritis and I am normal, maybe fibro. What helps is celebrex or other nsaids (some more than others) and small amounts of steroids. She has forbidden me to take anything but the occasional tramadol which just puts me to sleep for a little then doesn't really help the joints. Am I crazy or what? Also, I am on antidepressants for recurring depression and just got back on them in case it is all in my head but they don't help. I am not really a nutcase or anything, I teach in a college and have some intelligence, but am being treated like I am totally ignorant or something.
