What causes This ?

hello everyone , im a 32 y/o female  ive been exspereancing pains off and on now for the last 3 yrs  in my left ribcage area . I had been to my doctor several times over the yrs .ive had upper resp infection the same time this starting happening , and also was dealing with another problem with fibroid tumors . since then ive had my hysteretomy done thinking maybe this is the cause of it , well a yr later and i was still getting these flare ups feeling as if someone shoved there fist up underneith my ribs .  i went last wed and my family doctor thought it was a misplaced rib in my upper right side and said if we do away with this maybe your pain in your lower left side and under ribcage will go away , well it started to get worse as the weekend creeped up and i finally  couldnt take no more and made another apt. for today , well i went to day and my family docs. partner  said it was inflammation of  ribs . he precribed me lortabs  and said if this still is presisted by the end of this wk and the begining of next to come back and we will start running tests on you . my question would be what exactly causes inflammation in the ribs . my pain is on the left side towards the waist line under the ribs , and in the back (kidney area ) its tender , sore , and very painful . exspecially to the touch .Anyways im just trying to find out what causes this ? and should i seek further testing to find out why im having these inflammation flares ? Thank you for time and advise !

well if this pain still keeps up by monday or so ill be going right  back to my doc. see the thing is i feel this lump feeling underneith my left side of my ribcage, and tonight when i was laying on my belly i could feel it . like  i was laying on a small ball . its hard to explain on where exactly it is , its at the bottem base of the ribs more towards my side area and up under that bottem rib . i feel the pain in my side , back and my ribs feel like they are on fire  alot heat feeling. im taking naproxen which really isnt helping, and taking lortabs  which i think mask the pain but sorta help and knock me out ! im really thinking ive got some sorta mass/cyst  or something is enlarged . all i know is it just doesnt feel right there ! last yr i had a hysterectomy done due to fibroid tumors large ones at that !  and also had my cervix removed cause of precancer cells in my cervix. i know i get cysts on my ovarys i have a 1cm cyst i think on my right ovary. been there for  yrs . other than that i think of my self as being healthy , im a lil over weight  for my height and age ,also ive noticed getting a few times was a lump on my throat right above the adams apple on  the left side , it would last for about a wk or so and then dissapear  on me . have no clue what it  might be but it would be sore when i touched it and when i swallowed . but not inside my throat just were that lump was.

I am not a doctor.  The only thing I can relate to is rib inflammation.  I have something called costochondritis its inflammation of cartilage between ribs sometimes it is painful to breathe in.  I am not sure about the painfulnes to touch issue.  The doctor told me it can come from when you are young and active in gymnastics and stuff... ??? But I would still get tested for things this condition costochondritis is not severe and your info sounds a little more.  Have them check your CRP (simple blood lab draw) it is an indicator of how much inflammation is in your body.
