question about ibuprofin/motrin

Hi, read this on a drugs.com and medcine.net

"Ulcers, sores, or white spots in mouth—Ulcers, sores, or white spots in the mouth sometimes mean that the medicine is causing serious side effects; if these sores or spots are already present before you start taking the medicine, it will be harder for you and your doctor to recognize that these side effects might be occurring"

I do not have arthritis but have gained 60+lbs in a year and it is taking a toll on my joints. I also have some underlying symptoms which I am undergoing testing for to see if I can get a Dx. Anyway, i have always has daily headaches and been having a lot of pain in my back and neck, and just today my left forearm began to really heart...mostly elbow and wrist. I have been taking quite a bit more motrin than usual because of this. My mom has 600mg tabs and sometimes I take one and it doesnt help so I take another one a few hours later. Tonight I think I may have accidently taken 2 at once. My backpack was sitting on the couch next to me and I reached in it to get my motrin and thought I took one out of the ziploc baggie and took it with some water, then I saw one on the coffee table in front of me after I took the water and had a brain fart and couldnt remember if I actually took it. Maybe I just got it out, drank the water and forgot to take it?-I do that a lot. or maybe there was just another one sitting on the table -that would not be unusual either Now I am starting to think I probably took 2. and I think I had 2 or 3 during the day, I dunno.

My question is that quote at the top of my post-I have had a lot of little white cakersores on my tounge and they do not seem to be going away. does anyone know what the "serious side effects" are that they are referring to if you have these sores??

thanks...sorry for the probably unessecarily long post :)

I am strongly syspecting it is cyclical cushings syndrome...wating on a test result...if not that I suspect some sort of thyroid issue..possibly autoimmne..defeineitly something hormone related..and something with a cyclical nature...I have been a mess..appetite, BP, pulse rate all over the place. headaches, joint and back pain, insomnia, anxiety, short rage episodes (throwing things is the only thing that helps :( ) excessive sweating (I never used to sweat)..I have gained 50lbs in one year and 70lbs since 18months ago and I continue to climb. I hit 300 for the first time this week. I am blessed with my height, so that helps from an asthetic point of view, but it does nothing for my health..I have had numerous blood tests in the past 18 months...all normal...trying to get to the bottom of this.....waiting for urine result..praying for a positive!!

Hi, I have Sjogren's syndrome and get sores in my mouth.  I don't know if you have any dry mouth or dry eyes, but the joint pain goes with it.  I also have some sort of autoimmune disease and have gained a lot of weight, about 25 lbs. this year.  But part of that could be that I'm not exercising because of my knees and back.

What were you diagnosed with?  I also got stomach ulcers from taking a lot of Advil/Motrin.  Try Tylenol instead.  Too much Tylenol is not good either, but it won't cause ulcers.
