Doubling current dosage

I have a question about my med's....I am currently on 25mg of Zoloft daily.  My doctor wanted to start me off slowly so that the side effects weren't to bad.  I have an appointment with her in a week and a half were we are planning on uping the dosage to 50mg/daily.  I am no longer feeling sideeffects of the med's and am wonder the following:

Is it safe to take 2 x 25mg of the zoloft? Rather than waiting until I go and see my doctor.

I am still planning on going to the doctor's I'm just wondering if this is safe to do ir not.

My suggestion would be to wait until you see your prescriber to increase your dosage to 50mg. Your doctor will want to discuss with you what side effects you experienced on the 25mg before moving you up.

Best of luck to you!

What is safe for one may not be for another.

Only your reaction to the dose if it is upped...will give you a clue as to whether it is ok to do so.

Right now if you are doing ok on it...why fix what is not broke? Sometimes even at a low dose...using therapy and pushing through your fears lil at a time is a good thing.

It is normal practice to up the dose if the doctor deems it is to do so :)
