Bear in mind, that there are a lot of people out there that do forge prescriptions and will do anything to get prescription opiates if they are addicted. Pharmacists do have to be cautious. I have seen people in drug court who have committed these kinds of offenses. While I can empathize with Pharmacist for being careful, in no way should anyone accuse somebody of something without the facts to back it up. Actually, the police should be the ones to interrogate the suspected individuals.
I'm sorry that you had to go through that embarrassment. I would be livid if I were you. If I were you, and a Pharmacist wrongly accused me of calling in a controlled substance, I would sue the Pharmacist for Defamation of character. That Pharmacist was wrong in what they did. I would get a lawyer and have your doctor subpoena'd and testify for you. Being a police officer who works in the Court Houses where I live, I've seen people sew other people for a lot less. Or just one letter from a lawyer with the intent to sue might put a scare into this Pharmacist, and you may even get an apology. Then I bet she would never accuse someone again of breaking the law unless she had sufficient cause.
Take care,
Erik
Maybe you can have your doctor fax the prescription to the pharmacy to put an end to the confusion.
