PROZAC and WEIGHT GAIN

I was taking Prozac for about a year and half and had just recently stopped (approximately 2 weeks now).  I gained about 30 lbs as a side effect (sadly)...so now I am left wondering if this will eventually "fade away" in time --- and if so, how long does it normally take for it to be completely out of your system ... ??? ...

Thank you for your time and help.

You're doing what you need to do to lose the weight. The majority of the fluoxetine will be excreted in a few more weeks, so just be patient and continue eating right and exercising.

Fluoxetine (Prozac) has the slowest elimination of the SSRIs. About 60% of an oral dose is excreted in urine within 35 days, and it could take up to 3 months for it to be completely eliminated from your system

Thank you so much for your reply.

As for the weight that I gained - any comments or advice?  ...will I stop gaining when this (Fluoxetine) is out of my system completely?  ...it is really frustrating as I am working out more and eating less but yet I am still gaining weight.  I was 105 lbs before I started taking this medication, and so gaining close to 40 lbs in a year and a half is a lot.  My face look bloated, my stomach looks like I am about 4 months pregnant (although my arms and legs look pretty much the same) --- all so frustrating --- so anything information and advice is very welcome and will be very much appreciated.

Thank you again for your time...
