2 yr old w/ foreign object in his lung

My son had a pistacio nut lodged in his lung for a week last summer. He had no use of it for a week.  He now has had 3 bouts of pnumonia in the same area in less than 9 months. Could there be damage from not using the lung or damge from the nut? Our pediatrician is talking with a doctor about it, but just wanted to know if anyone ever delt with something like this? Thanks.

A CT scan needs to be done to determine the location of foreign body and the extent of damage to the lungs. If the foreign body is still there, it is the cause of recurrent pneumonia. Doctors might have to do a surgery to treat this condition

Hi, I would definitely talk to a pulminologist about this and take him for a 2nd opinion.   Did they remove the nut?  So sorry to hear of this.  Welcome to our community!
