Has anyone experienced???

Have you ever been on prednisone for a long period of time and when weaning off the
medication experienced any unpleasant withdrawl, or side effects? I'm having a heck
of a time getting off this s---. I hate the medicine. I wish I had of researched it like I do
with all my other drugs. The puffy face, the way sores don't heal, the coughing and weezing.
Anyones experience with is greatly appreciated.  lonote/Cathy

Yes, I can relate. and I found it very difficult to wean off the stuff. The only thing that kept me going was knowing the fact that the withdrawal symptoms would eventually subside. I just push through it everytime I'm on it for more extended times. Unless you are experiencing any of the symptoms of adrenal crisis, I wouldn't worry about it too much. But you shouldn't ween down too fast either. For me I've only been on it for about 6 weeks at a time (30-60 mg), and each time was instructed to go down by 5 mg every 3 to 4 days. I find that it takes another 2 weeks, just to start feeling normal again after completely stopping the pills. Yes, it's nasty. Take care.
