Side effects?

I was wondering if asthma or asthma medication causes any of this symptoms.

First really funny menstrual cycles.  I have had my period for 15 out of the last 20 days.  It is on for a week, stops for 5-7 days and then starts up again, decent flow but not super heavy.  My cycle has always been pretty regular, anywhere from 27-30 days apart and for 6-8 days at a time.  It also smells different but I can't explain it.  Plus for the last month or so I have had a constant dull ache in my abdomen that is typical for 2-3 days before my period but it won't go away.

Secondly, I have had really sore, tight muscles and completely exhausted.  I have been using my albuterol inhaler for more days than not for the last month or so.  My work is moving so we are removing shelving and moving things around that haven't been touched for 20+ years.  And of course it is a pet store so who knows what is in the dust (plus I am allergy to cats and dust mites).  And now the last couple of days have been very humid so lungs defintely acting up.

So has anyone else had anything similar, I don't want to bug my doctor if the symptoms are just due to an increase use of albuterol, but at the same point I'm volunteering last week in a small town for 3 weeks so I don't want to get sick when I'm away from home.  Any comments would be appreciated.

I probably could wear a mask .... the problem is that I work in a pet store so my job is to help customers .... I don't know how the customers would deal with it.  :)

I'm scared to think how bad I would be if we were moving back in january, now that I have had 3 months of allergy shots my symptoms have been almost gone until these last few weeks.

I'll probably ask tomorrow when I'm getting my allergy shot, depending on which doctor I get.

Thanks for the responses, it was starting to dry out (until 5 minutes ago when it started to rain again) so we will see how it goes.

Oh, I forgot to mention. My specialist suggested I wear a dust mask anytime I'm vacuuming, which also stirs up the dust from your carpets. Perhaps you should try to wear one while doing the moving at work, so as to allow your lungs to get back in order again.

Tammy,

I've had bad reactions to moving my desk from one space to another this past winter.
And the amount of dust is amazing (the cleaning staff don't dust), and it set me off every time I was busy moving stuff around. And when you're constantly fighting against an allergic reaction (we have tons of dust mites in Vancouver due to high humidity), it will wear your body out. Not sure about the menstrual thing though. It could be that you're dealing with two different issues.

Hi Tammy,

I'm not sure but pulled this from the drug side effects in health topics for albuterol:

http://www.medhelp.org/drugs/albuterol/show/4081

If you call or post on ask a pharmacist they have even more info to draw upon in reference sheets.

Wish I could help you more .. maybe worth a call to your Doc before you leave for your trip.  That's what I would do.
